*The Role*
A national company is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join its busy transport team located in Hatfield.
*Duties** Primarily trunking from depot to depot* Deliver parcels/Packages to designated depot to depot locations in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of customer service.* Operate a HGV Class 1 vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all road regulations.* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.* Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and operational efficiency.
*Qualifications** Valid UK HGV Class 1 driving license with the appropriate categories for commercial driving.* Up to date UK CPC and Digi Cards – no EC Cards accepted* Clean or minimal points on license and no major endorsements.* Proven experience as a HGV Class 1 Driver* Strong knowledge of UK road safety regulations and best practices in UK transportation.* Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with GPS systems and a good knowledge of UK road netwrok is essential* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on customer service.* A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
