- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Physics department.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality Physics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (or as applicable).
- Oversee curriculum development, ensuring alignment with national standards and school goals.
- Lead and support a team of Physics teachers, promoting professional development and collaboration.
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement and engagement.
- Organize enrichment activities such as science clubs, competitions, field trips, and guest lectures.
- Manage department resources and budget effectively.
- Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and work closely with the wider Science faculty.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in Physics education and integrate new approaches where appropriate.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Physics or a closely related field.
- Proven track record of outstanding teaching and raising student outcomes.
- Experience in curriculum planning and department leadership (or strong potential for it).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to inclusive, student-centred education.
