This is an opportunity for a talented educator to shape and enhance the teaching and learning of Physics across all key stages. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the curriculum, supporting staff, and inspiring students to achieve their full potential in Physics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Physics department.
• Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality Physics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (or as applicable).
• Oversee curriculum development, ensuring alignment with national standards and school goals.
• Lead and support a team of Physics teachers, promoting professional development and collaboration.
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement and engagement.
• Organize enrichment activities such as science clubs, competitions, field trips, and guest lectures.
• Manage department resources and budget effectively.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and work closely with the wider Science faculty.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in Physics education and integrate new approaches where appropriate.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Degree in Physics or a closely related field.
• Proven track record of outstanding teaching and raising student outcomes.
• Experience in curriculum planning and department leadership (or strong potential for it).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to inclusive, student-centred education.
